Tourism Naturally is a pioneer of Indigenous tourism business development. As founders and operators of Kimberley Wilderness Adventures (KWA), it first developed a partnership with Djaru Indigenous guides in the Purnululu (Bungle Bungle National Park) in 1995.

To ensure that indigenous people benefited from the development of tourism on their country that showcased the Kimberley’s amazing Aboriginal rock art and dreaming stories, KWA negotiated a joint venture with the Wunan Foundation in 1999-2000 and continued to manage the business until selling to those Indigenous interests in July 2002.

Now operated by APT in joint venture with Wunan, KWA is Australia’s premier business with indigenous ownership and is a leader in ecotourism. Neil McGilp achieved a Master of Business administration in Hotel and Tourism Management in 2006.

Tourism Naturally has had a direct involvement in a broad spectrum of tourism operations from safari camps and 4wd tours to luxury resorts, including:

  • Canoeing and rafting tours
